This hidden gem has carved a niche for itself as a go-to spot for breakfast lovers and milkshake enthusiasts alike. With its cozy atmosphere and friendly service, it’s the kind of place where you can kick back, relax, and enjoy a hearty meal that won't break the bank.
As soon as you step inside, you’re greeted by the warm ambiance and the enticing aromas wafting from the kitchen. The menu boasts a wide variety of options, making it a haven for anyone feeling hungry. From the beloved Irish Breakfast—a feast that features a combination of black and white puddings, soda bread, and a Bumper Fry—to lighter fare like the Soup and Sandwich or Wrap Combo, there's something to satisfy every appetite. In my experience, each dish is generously portioned without compromising on flavor, making it a perfect choice for those of us who appreciate a substantial meal.
However, what truly sets Maggie May's Botanic apart is its legendary selection of milkshakes. Each shake is crafted with care, and at just £6.00, customers can indulge in creative flavors like Bananas About Nuts and The Biscoff Babe. The 'Super Special Shakes' section of the menu is nothing short of exciting, and they even welcome custom requests—adding a personal touch to your dining experience.
Customer reviews echo a common theme: the service is friendly and attentive, ensuring that every visitor feels welcomed. Henry Slim's praise highlights the quick service and diverse breakfast options, while Teresa Meere raves about both the food and staff. It’s evident that this establishment has made a mark on the local dining scene, known for transforming simple ingredients into extraordinary dishes. The only caveat, as noted by some patrons, is that it can get a bit crowded during peak hours; however, that only adds to its charm as a bustling food hub.
In summary, whether you're in the mood for a steaming cup of tea with your fry or a sweet and punchy milkshake, Maggie May's Botanic delivers on every front. This café not only offers delicious food but also creates a nurturing environment that makes you want to return. If you find yourself in Belfast, make sure to stop by this delightful eatery—your taste buds will thank you!
“ A great place to go for breakfast with a range of food for any hungry person. The food is delivered fast and tastes good. A wide variety of milkshakes are available and custom ones can be requested as well. I would recommend this for anyone in Belfast who is looking for a nice breakfast at a reasonable price. ”
“ Had breakfast here. Food was fabulous and very reasonable. The service was excellent. All staff were so nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend if in Belfast. ”
“ Belfast's very warm food place! Food is superb in hearty servings and big portions. Taste did not go off tangent even with such sheer size. Went for the Irish Breakfast as I was craving for some black & white puddings but took my friend's soda bread and potato bread off her Bumper Fry as I preferred them more than my white toasts! Service was all right they just seemed majorly understaffed. Can be a bit noisy when the place is full as it is small, cozy and cramped. As what you'd expect from a bar/small hearty place kind of setting. Some small notes: Club sandwiches look good. I'd recommend getting some milkshakes as they're famous for 'em (it was great the last I' ve had them - sweet and punchy). Would always come here when I feel like a famished food fighter looking to fill my hollow tummy! ”
“ Went for something to eat & had a great meal. Staff were really nice & checking in to see how it was and if I needed anything else. Wasn't super busy when I went so I got a table immediately. Food was really good & I'll definitely be back again. ”
“ A gem of a proper old school cafe. Just had the bumper fry and I'm properly bumped. I may not move for a week. Fantastic happy friendly staff working really hard...huge thanks to them. Big pot of tea was perfect with the fry. Be aware cash only and worth every penny ”
“ Fabulous place for breakfast. Love how they tell you it’s cash only when you arrive so you can make sure you have cash to pay. Breakfast burrito was amazing - I took part of mine back with me (thank you). The staff were brilliant. Amazing place would definitely come back ”
